Advocating for a Better Future

FAIR WAGES

I have spoken in numerous rallies, on television, on radio and podcasts, both as a member of the Patriotic Millionaires and Voices for Progress, about the need to ensure every American working a full time job can live in dignity.

TV Interview.

VOTING RIGHTS

It is the right of every American to cast their vote.  This right is sacred.  I am a passionate advocate for access to the ballot for all eligible voters, and for fair, safe and free elections. Article.

IMMIGRANT & MINORITY RIGHTS

As a first-generation American myself, and as a former undocumented immigrant long before becoming a CEO, I am an advocate for immigration laws that represent the values America was founded upon. Article.  TV Interview

FAIR TAXATION

I had the distinct honor and high privilege of speaking to reporters in front of the West Wing on behalf of dozens of business leaders and other affluent Americans advocating for the Obama's administration repeal of the Bush tax cuts on billionaires and millionaires.  Article

THE FREE PRESS

Sometimes destruction is not creative.

It is a timeless truth: If you want to know the facts, get a newspaper reporter to chase them down.  There is an urgent need to shore up the fourth estate; saving and reviving local newspapers should be a national priority. Article.

GET OUT THE VOTE

I was proud to be a citizen volunteer who knocked on thousands of doors for candidates who inspired me, like President Obama.  In 2008, I partnered with a paid organizer in Pasco County, FL, to lead hundreds of volunteers, knock on thousands of doors personally, and mobilize tens of thousands of legal voters to show up to vote for the historic candidacy of President Obama.  By cutting the margin in bellwether Pasco County from tens of thousands to mere thousands, my fellow volunteers and I helped deliver Florida for Obama, and contributed our small part to President Obama's victory.  I was subsequently named a member of President Obama's Presidential Partners. an honorary group, by DNC Chairman Tim Kaine.
